Ayumu Santa, a PhD student in
our lab, won the best oral presentation award in the 83rd annual conference of Japanese Society of Animal Psychology (JSAP) held from the 8th-9th Oct in Tokyo. The JSAP is one of the oldest academic society in Japanese psychology with it’s 90 years history and currently holds over 400 members. Ayumu presented his collaborative study on an orca with the Nagoya port aquarium that examined if it has a cognitive capacity of rotating mental images, so-called 'mental rotaion'.
